Wonderful post! I went to Seattle last year and got a City Pass. It was a lot of fun, but your trip sounds way better. I definitely have a lot of ideas for the next trip! And nice to know you can get deals on the Mediterranean Inn, I wanted to go there so bad, but it was out of my budget last time.

Greenlake Bar and Grill is one of our favorite places to go. One thing to note is their happy hour is not like other restaurants. They do not require you to sit in the bar. It's actually offered in the whole restaurant. They also have other deals such as $5 Steak and Fries on Wednesday, and $6.99 Brunch on the weekend if you eat before 11am and order breakfast from the regular menu verses specials sheet. I'm so glad this great spot ended up on your date list!

We love Thai Cottage! And I know just who served you - I recognize him from the description. We always get friendly, welcoming service and yummy food there. Haven't tried Red Twig, but it sounds good.

I live near there. I won't EVER go there solely because they treated a paying customer like dirt (and I'll tell 10 friends, who'll tell 10 friends, who'll tell 10.....). Great post! I own a business (non restaurant) and the people that pay me the least are treated EXACTLY the same as those who pay premium prices. Flawlessly and with unwavering attention to their needs. It all adds up, and they tell 10 friends......

In the Puget Sound Journal, in the back of the magazine, every week, there are free seminars to attend. You'll learn something AND....they generally have coffee and sodas for free as well.

Another cheap date idea. Wander around Molbak's in downtown Woodinville, look at the gorgeous poinsettias, the great selection of ornaments and Christmas villages and sample the Danish Kringle.

The museums sometimes have free days. Browsing at the Pike Place Market is fun and you don't have to buy anything. There are fun places to browse in the U-District, too, such as the University Bookstore.

I really like the idea of a breakfast date at home - I love to cook, and if I don't say so myself, I can make a killer breakfast. I'm usually the first one up in the morning, but unfortunately my wife is usually the last (at least on the weekends). Maybe I can entice her out of bed for a date one day, eh?

I'd never heard of this before and just looked at my library's web site. They have a pass for a couple dozen attractions that you check out for free and print from your computer. Very cool! Thanks for the tip.
